Studying for AP test history of the world?
I am a sophomore in high school and I take AP World History, and I have very difficult to do well on tests. They are multiple choice, but they involve whole chapters and are very specific. What are good ways to study and memorize reread the chapters of history textbook other than just right on playing again yesterday?
I am like you. So Many chapters in the trial are quite overwhelming, even when you are using to make a test chapter. If your teacher gave you notes or at least an outline of them, be sure to know the people and companies linked to the sketch. On testing, I have always struggled with issues which dealt with the names of leaders or conquerors. As if on your plan, it lists something like the Islamists try to study their contributions, technology, culture, characters, enemies, and well just the main things that really. Search the site for your manual [most textbooks have online activities], most of the time, they provide things that help you study. Sorry if it does not really help you, however, I am quite lost myself. I was shocked at my first test but since it was the first time I ever failed a test.
The word "Thai" means free, and so Thailand means "land of liberty." Previously, the country was well known in the world as "Siam" and only on May 11, 1949 made an official proclamation changed the name of the country "Prathet Thailand" or "Thailand" in which it has since become known worldwide.
In childhood, our school textbooks told us that our ancestors had their roots in southern China where they originated some 4,500 years ago. Now there are conflicting opinions and theories about the origin of Thais since the discovery of many instruments and artifacts in the village of Ban Chiang in the Nong Han District of the northeastern province of Udon Thani. The theory of the origin Thailand's population has changed now, it seems that the Thais might have first established here in Thailand and later scattered in various parts of Asia, even some parts of China.
The controversy over the origin of the Thais shows no sign of definite conclusion as many more theories have been presented and some even go further to say that Thais were originally of Austronesian rather than Mongoloid. Whatever the outcome of the dispute may be, in the 13th century the Thais had already settled in the land of the main Sokhothai Southeast Asia as the first kingdom. The Sukhothai era marked a period of cultural development. Under King Ramkhamhaeng the Great, who ruled from 1275 to 1315, the land of Sukhothai was prosperous. There were fish in the water and rice in the fields. Due to the prosperity of the kingdom, it is considered as a "golden age" of Thai history.
Then in 1350, a new dynasty headed by King Ramathibodi I (Uthong) established a new capital Ayutthaya, and in 1378 during the reign of King Borommaracha I, Sukhothai was submitted to become a tributary state of Ayutthaya. The kingdom of Ayutthaya survived several wars with Burma, before falling to the invasion of Burma in 1767.
Following this defeat, the Thais led by King Taksin retreated south and established a new capital at Thon Buri. At his death in 1782, King was succeeded by King Phra Buddha Yodfah Chulaloke (Rama I) moved the capital across the river to its present location in Bangkok in Thon Buri was too vulnerable to attacks from Burma. King founded the Chakri dynasty which rules the country until today.
