Asperger's Syndrome?

My daughter (11 years) was diagnosed w / ADD in the third year. It has a very low capacity to concentrate and be attentive in class, awkward, social problems were younger, learning difficulties (well tested, the results out w / no learning disabilities), but also areas in its own world class and while taps excessively or becomes "ecstasy" by some object like a fancy pen and will not respond to his name. I think she has more ADD. Are these syptoms over autism or Asperger's syndrome? Otherwise, his apperence is normal and she continues to do better in school w / tutorial. It also seems easier to socialize with each passing year. She was placed on ritilin at the age of 9 who helps to pay attention in class, but she still has problems with zoning and focus. This sounds like nothing more than to add?

First let me say that I am not a psychologisht or psychatrist. Asperger's Syndrome is an autism spectrum disorder, but it is not autism. In the 1940s, an Austrian doctor has examined some of the boys and found they had some unusual charatreristics. Asperger syndrome or syndrome has been added to the DSM IV in 1994. Dr. Asperger refreed often boys in which he wrote his article as being "little profeesors" Asperger's is more common among men, however, occurs often in women as is the case my friend. Asperger's is often co-morbided sense, it is often accompinaed by other psychological problems such as learning disability nonverbal and disorder deficiet attendion and other conditions. Asperger's is most often charterised the inability to "read" and respond approratialy to social cues, most often non-verbal communication. They sometimes difficulity ajusting to change routine. They also tend to have "special intrests" The interests that are often intense. These can often turn into passions and careers. Particlarly Some appear to be sensitive to things like loud noises. Sometimes, motor skills are impaired. Most learn to walk and talk within the normal range. Those with Asperger's are often intellegience average higher. Often vsual spatial tasks are more difficult (ie conduct when she is older) concrete language is easier to understand that abstract. Those with Asperger's may not use a lot of nonverbal communication themselves. Some may have a flat affect. The website of the Mayo Clinic has a good number of useful information. As the OASIS website. I had a close friend jr. high and high school who had Asperger's. Some psychologists say that Bill Gates and Albert Einstien showed signs of having Asperger's. Asperger's seems to have a very "interesting compentent. The fancy pen seems this may take a little bit. The Austrialian Asperger scale is on the OASIS website. If your daughter answers some questions about what you might consider your daughter evaluated. Often, evaluations may fail Asperger search on other LD so you may want to mention that you suspect Asperger If you get her re-evaluated.
