The reason for he saw a magician with a servant because he was probably a Frost Mage. They also were likely to level 70. At the level of all their talent points in * Frost * you may end up with a water elemental servant. The priest will get only a magician. So yes, technically you can have a servant, but later levels til no, and only that. If you are interested in having a servant, level 8 is only the beginning, and its not too late to change. End-game undead warlocks may come to seem quite strong if u put some effort in, so if you think you would like a witch w / a servant, it is not too late to change.
