Star Wars Episodes I-III – like a bad television soap during the day?
I am a Star Wars fan, do not misunderstand me. Imagination and design is excellent in all 6 episodes and the resulting video games (X-Wing Alliance, Rogue Squadron, for example) are impressive .. Episodes IV (New Hope) V (Empire Strikes Back), VI (Return of the Jedi) were great – the history and presentation .. It seems to me at least something was lost in I (Phantom Menace) II (The Attack of the Clones) and III (Revenge of the Sith). Episode III, especially playing away I felt like a bad soap opera you see on the television during the day. I and II were so-so, but not to the standards of the last three films made 1977-1983. Thus, a question … What was your impression of I-III vs IV-VI? Else you want to add would be welcome. PS The only reason I bring this up now because HBO has been playing Episode III and the other lately.
The hardest part for someone living in the seventies are looking at the early films, as they would if they were seen for the first time in recent years. Many of us older fans saw eps 4-6 with childhood innocence and we believe that this day they were the greatest films ever made. Then came to the most recent films, but without the childish innocence and said he hopes the majority and not stack up to the originals. Another factor is that seeing the original trilogy in the seventies and eighties, who didn''t know what would happen. Going back in time to tell the prequels, we know how they will leave, so that the parties complete mystery suspense are absent. Add to the fact that the original cast of nobodys tried harder than the current crop of Thespians, and you end up with an answer very long unresponsive to anything (ahem). My point: it is an apple and orange comparison like the trilogies are more differences than similarities. The worst part, in my book, besides the aforesaid action, the technology was improved for "older" films. They had a very bad job of aging new movies to watch over the original trilogy. I also believe that are expected to know more than us about the behind the scenes things were the Sith doing to make the rule of the Republic. I think George assumed, because we knew that eventually, the details were so important. You definitely have to see them separately, while the two final stories of the Star Wars universe that are too different. IMHO, the originals are still the best in enjoyability, as the dialogue, writing, and originality. That's another thing: Lucas relied too heavily on "this technological terror constructs", and got very far from the masks rubber and elaborate decorations. In an interview with Liam Neeson, he said that all sets of Ep 1 was stopped at 6 'tall and the rest were all later CGD. I'm done. Seriously. No, seriously.
